  • First visit at the Sihlhalde in Gattikon. We know the area quite a bit as we love take strolls there. A beautiful idyllic setting where you enjoy the terrazza in the summer and the cosy interior in winter. A beautiful old traditional Swiss house including kachelhofen. Sihlhalde Smolinsky, here we go: Pastinaque, summer truffles // Brasato ravioli, Périgord truffles, summer truffles // Sea bass, champagne sauce, (not sure here: viper grass or chard) // Venison loin, mushroom cream sauce, cranberries, chestnuts, spätzli // Cheese selection, plum chutney // Tarte Tatin, sour cream ice cream // Côte des nuits, Nuits-St-Georges, Latour, 2015 This restaurant keeps his indulgent promises, without pretentiousness, which makes their cuisine accessible to a broader group. And I strongly believe it’s intentional. The menu concept is very linear and clear, classic dishes made with focus on the taste and gourmandise. This is reflected also in the wine selection, clear, readable and lovely.

  • What an amazing experience to come eat here. Gregor is a very passionate chef and you can tell from how the restaurant is run. A lot of love is given to details and the menu is excellent with extraordinary culinary highlights that you will typically find in a place with a Michelin star. The outdoor seating area is lovely and it's a peaceful atmosphere with no traffic noise.

  • Beautiful building in a quiet place. Authentic stylish interior and service. Food really good, wines as well. Just missing the magic and that final touch to come back.

  • Very accommodating! The chef made a delicious vegan menu for me at a group event, where everyone else had meat or fish. The decor is old-school and cozy, service was family-like. I hope there will be more vegan and vegetarian options in the future!

  • Cozy place, with great and inspired food. The staff is extremely kind and obliging. The chef himself asked us several times, if we enjoy the food or if there is anything he could do. The 5 course menu offers a great variety of dishes, from local fish to meat from the farm across the street for a reasonable (Swiss) price. Excellent selection of wines!

  • Our family dinner at Restaurant Sihlhalde was a refined experience. We chose the five-course menu, and each dish impressed with precision, balance, and seasonal flavor. The kitchen clearly focuses on craftsmanship over showmanship — elegant plating, excellent ingredients, and flawless execution. Service was equally polished: attentive, friendly, and perfectly timed. It made the evening feel effortless. The only shortcoming was the atmosphere. The dining room is very traditional — quiet, formal, and unmistakably Swiss. With no music or ambient elements, it lacked the warmth and energy that could elevate the overall experience.

  • Exceptional food and service. All needed for a perfect experience. The gourmet menu is well balanced and nicely served. The chef is checking personally if everything is right on each table. The only thing that can be improved is to implement fresh air circulation inside as the place is quite busy and the good food and wine are bringing the temperatures high. Will visit again!
